The state GIS conference is coming up the first week of April in Kingsport, TN. This is a great opportunity to meet geospatial professionals from across the state, learn about how geospatial technology is being used in various industries, and highlight your work. • This contest is for research posters like you would present at SEDAAG, AAG, or some other form of undergraduate research. If you are planning on participating in Eureca this spring, the timing would be perfect to get some feedback.

• This is an actual map contest. Think along the lines of the work you did in Geography 311 with the various thematic and reference maps. There are also web categories for story maps.

• This is for student presentations about a research project or activity that you’ve been working on. This is a great way to highlight something you have done in GIS in the Community or some other class project or independent study.

• 5 minutes, 5 slides. This is a great opportunity to present on some ongoing research or activity that isn’t finished yet, share a pet project you’ve been working on, or share a skill, tool, or web based resource you’re working with

• There are a limited number of student assistantships available to cover the cost of registration in exchange for some volunteer hours. This is a great opportunity to start meeting other students in the geospatial field and introduce you to various people within TNGIC.
