Today, we “rolled over” the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for all academic programs in the Campus Labs Planning Module from 2018-19 to 2019-20. Please take a moment to look at the SLOs for your program to be sure they were indeed copied forward correctly.

For those of you introducing new outcomes this year (or revising an existing one), please let us know if you would like assistance. We’re happy to come to you.

  * If the changes are truly simple edits of the wording, you can go into the Planning Module and make the appropriate edits. In the Notes field of the form, provide the old SLO, indicate the revisions made, and provide an explanation as to why the change is being made. This is really for archival history for the program faculty.

  * If the change is major, such as eliminating the SLO, it should be based on assessment of student learning. In these cases, 1) use the Notes field of the SLO being deleted to provide the explanation why it is being retired. 2) Attach any supporting documentation. And then, 3) mark the Progress field as “Retired.” You would then create the new SLO, using the same SLO number. This will help reviewers understand what is happening with the program’s assessment plan.

Let us know if you have questions or need assistance.

Thank you!
