For many librarians responsible for cataloging and classifying, this is a common scenario and dilemma when processing new materials. Whether you're new to this task or needing a refresher, a solid knowledge of the basics of Dewey Decimal Classification will help you feel more comfortable using this important tool.

Library of Congress Classification: The Basics - Would you like to learn more about the Library of Congress Classification system? Do you need some clarification on how number building works, or are you confused about Cutter numbers? This class will provide an overview of the structure of Library of Congress Classification, with detailed exploration of some schedules, along with short homework assignments to help you practice your learning.
