Regarding your question, ORISE does have opportunities at ORNL for students/recent grads interested in remote sensing/GIS. One specific opportunity is available to graduate students through the C-STARS program: https://www.zintellect.com/Opportunity/Details/ORNL_C-STARS_GIS. ORISE also administers internship programs that are very broad in scope, with opportunities in pretty much any research area at ORNL (including remote sensing/GIS).
