Freight Transportation Stakeholders:

As required under the FAST Act, the U.S. DOT is developing a National Freight Strategic Plan.  The primary purpose of the Plan is to inform infrastructure planning, coordinate investments, and support future freight efficiencies that improve shippers’ experience.  The Plan will assess the conditions and performance of the Nation’s multimodal freight system and identify corridors and bottlenecks for the movement of freight produced by American energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and natural resources industries.  It will provide a strategic framework to guide strategic initiatives, support multi-jurisdictional and cross-sector collaboration, and identify freight data gaps.  As part of the development effort, the U.S. DOT is seeking input from public and private transportation stakeholders including state and local agencies, industry trade groups, and shippers.  More information about the National Freight Strategic Plan Request for Information (RFI), including how to provide feedback, can be found in the Federal Register link below.  All comments must be submitted to the U.S. DOT on or before Monday, February 10, 2020.
