This is a GS 9-11 hydrologist position with the US FWS in Klamath Falls, OR.  If you want a challenging job, this is the one for you.  Position will evaluate the flow regime of the Upper Klamath Basin to deliver water to the water users who produce about 90% of all horseradish in the US and other large ag crops, with the needs of the ESA listed sucker species in the lake and the water levels needed to fight off avian botulism and provide sufficient habitat for snow geese and other waterfowl migrating thru on the Pacific Flyway.  Whomever is selected will gain a lot of experience in understanding how the Bureau of Reclamation manages this unique system, as well as with the NMFS issues for salmon in the downstream portion of the Klamath River.  There are 4 PacifiCorp dams on the Klamath River scheduled to be removed.  Job is open to the public or existing federal employees.

All,

The ES Senior Hydrologist position at the Klamath Falls FWO, formerly occupied by yours truly, is live.  This position will focus on hydrologic modeling related to the Bureau of Reclamation's Klamath Irrigation Project and its impacts on endangered Lost River and shortnose suckers in Upper Klamath Lake and threatened coho salmon in the Klamath River, as well as a number of other ESA, species recovery, and watershed restoration efforts.  It will be advertised as a GS-9 or GS-11, with a full performance level of GS-12.  I've posted the links below.  Please feel free to distribute widely.
