This is a GS 9-11 hydrologist position with the US FWS in Klamath Falls, OR. If you want a challenging job, this is the one for you. Position will evaluate the flow regime of the Upper Klamath Basin to deliver water to the water users who produce about 90% of all horseradish in the US and other large ag crops, with the needs of the ESA listed sucker species in the lake and the water levels needed to fight off avian botulism and provide sufficient habitat for snow geese and other waterfowl migrating thru on the Pacific Flyway. Whomever is selected will gain a lot of experience in understanding how the Bureau of Reclamation manages this unique system, as well as with the NMFS issues for salmon in the downstream portion of the Klamath River.
