The Paul Meek Library at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for a Team Leader of Support Services. This position serves as the team leader and supervisor of catalog processing. The position determines departmental priorities; creates action plans; coordinates staffing and resources; implements and manages workflows; and documents processes. In addition, the position provides reports and data to the Cataloging Librarian to aid in strategic planning and assessment.

Essential Job Functions
Cataloging
* Performs high level copy cataloging of new materials:
Finds records for new material in OCLC Connexion, edits, and imports records into Library ILS (Integrated Library System-Sierra)
* Enhances MARC records following AACR2 and RDA rules and using LC subject headings
* Updates Library holding records in OCLC Connexion database
* Assigns cataloging, processing, and general work assignments to staff and students
* Collaborates with cataloging librarian to incorporate changes in cataloging standards into the workflows

Management
* Hires, trains, directs, and evaluates two staff members
* Maintains budget and work hours for student workers and  work-study students
* Coordinates hiring, training, development, and work assignments for student workers
* Plans, schedules, and organizes work activities to meet unit goals and objectives
* Coordinates with staff to determine time lines, resources, and priorities for special projects
* Determines and documents procedures for the unit

Administrative Support
* Runs reports on materials in collection for review; creates an action plan based on data generated; consults with cataloging librarian about reports
* Generates statistical data on: status of materials, age of materials, and usage of materials for assessment and strategic planning purposes
* Provides status updates on unit's projects and timelines
* Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or high school diploma and 2 years library experience
* Supervisory experience
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task
* Ability to work collaboratively with others and to assume a leadership role
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Ability to work independently and exercise initiative in applying rules, procedures, and instructions

Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a library, including previous copy cataloging experience and experience using Connexion
* Experience using a Library Integrated System, particularly Sierra
