The Alaska Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a dynamic and innovative Fish and Wildlife Administrator (GS-15) to lead the Science Applications, Migratory Bird Management and International Conservation programs in Alaska. The Executive Leadership position has managerial responsibility and accountability for these programs and their highly skilled technical staff, issues and policies in Alaska and with other Nation’s who share responsibilities in the management of fish and wildlife resources.  The position is part of a Regional leadership team that works to conserve landscapes ranging from the vast interior and coastal wetlands, expansive arctic tundra, boreal and coastal rain forests, and marine and coastal ecosystems that support fish, wildlife, and plants entrusted to the Fish and Wildlife Service.

This position provides collaborative science and technical capacity in support of Fish and Wildlife Service Programs, leads the FWS in management of migratory bird populations through the largest field-based migratory bird program in the country, and coordinates international work across Programs including implementation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Maine Mammal Protection Act, Arctic Council’s Conservation for Arctic Flora and Fauna, as well as many other bi-lateral and multi-lateral treaties and agreements.  The position serves on a Regional Directorate Team that works across program lines to achieve regional and national priorities, and on the national leadership teams for Migratory Bird, Science Applications, and International Affairs. The full announcement, with qualifications and details about how to apply, are available at these two links:
