The Wallowa-Whitman NF, the Mt Hood NF, and the Malheur NF are all advertising for supervisory GS-12 Forest Fish Program Leaders.  Please share widely.

The Malheur NF position serves a dynamic program that includes support to collaborative forest partnerships that have been in place for almost ten years in John Day and Hines; a significant watershed restoration program on all three ranger districts; partnerships in the John Day basin that are accomplishing some very important restoration, fish species status information collection, and overall monitoring.  We work with three tribes, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation, the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation, and the Burns-Paiute tribe.  The forest has summer steelhead (listed under the ESA), redband trout, small relic populations of westslope cutthroat trout, bull trout, spring chinook, lamprey and sculpin.  The grazing program is one of the largest in the region and the fire/fuels program is progressive.  We are looking for a good team player who is ready for living in a rural area that has a lot of opportunities for work and play.  The position will supervise three permanent positions that are responsible for the stream survey program, support to the District aquatics’ projects, and to riparian monitoring for ESA-range.

I am available for interested applicants to ask questions.  Thanks!  Amy
