At Oklahoma State University, we have the state divided out to 3 districts, each district has a District Director who interviews and hires Extension Agents. (we call them Educators) This process for us is definitely
more efficient given the amount of Educators we hire.

At UF/IFAS, the extension agent postings are centralized. They’re also advertised at the county level as well as outside venues, but all applications are directed back to the main
posting on Careers at UF’s faculty page. The search committees are comprised of extension agents (from other counties) that are experts in the posting’s specialty.
