Subject: FW: Invitation: Project Learning Tree Certification

Hey Dr. Li,

As you can see below, Mark Fly sent us some info about a training that our undergraduates may be interested in. Can you send this to them?

Thanks!

Subject: Invitation: Project Learning Tree Certification

To all graduate and undergraduate students:

You are invited to participate in a "Project Learning Tree" (PLT) Training on Thursday, August 22 in room 114 Ellington Plant Sciences on the AG campus from 9 until 4. After this training you will be certified to do PLT lessons for youth and adults. You will receive a thick book of activities you can teach about forests and the environment. This is good training to become an interpretive guide in local, state, and national parks and to teach environmental science in schools, camps, nature centers, etc. Google "Project Learning Tree" for more information. PLT is a fun way to learn about nature.

The course is taught by Dave Walters, who recently retired from the Tennessee Division of Forestry.

Obviously, this is the first day for classes that meet on Thursday. If you do participate in PLT training, you will want to let your teachers know why you are not in class since some teachers may even drop students who do not show up for the first class.

I can provide you with a letter to excuse you from class, which is what we do for other student activities or field trips when students have to miss class.

Please let me know if you plan to attend so we can estimate the number of participants and books needed.

Thanks! We welcome your participation!
