Topic: The Impact Of Emerging Technologies on Freight Transportation and Land Use

Registration: https://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/fpd/talking_freight/index.htm

Description and Presentations: Various emerging technologies, including freight transportation-related technologies such as drones and automated trucks and non-freight transportation technologies including electric bikes and scooters, will likely increasingly impact and be impacted by freight transportation logistics needs and the related economic concerns in the coming years. The adoption of these new transportation technologies will probably alter both transportation usage and land use patterns, creating significantly implications for the government agencies focused on transportation and/or land use considerations across all levels of government - federal, state, metropolitan/regional, and local. It will be important for governmental agencies to understand and track the implementation of these new technologies in the short and long term.

This webinar will discuss both the transportation and land use implications related to the increasing adoption of emerging technologies and examine some of the key considerations stakeholders, especially professionals working at government agencies, need to understand.
