Lexington, the Horse Capital of the World, is a vibrant, ambitious, and welcoming city. The affordable
Bluegrass region is unique and residents enjoy a variety of educational opportunities, health care choices, family activities, arts and culture, business, and a strong economy.
Lexington is well regarded as a top community for home buyers, families, high-tech start-ups, retirement, and college students. Over the past several years, Lexington has seen streetscape improvements to new and enhanced bike and walking
trails, to many hospital expansions, to a rapidly-growing high-tech sector. There is an emerging technology scene and an entrepreneurial spirit drawing young people who want to live here and raise families. The public school system is impressive and the city
is home to the University of Kentucky, Transylvania University, and the Bluegrass Community and Technical College. Lexington is on the move and the city you are experiencing today is far different than that of even a decade ago. The gracious Bluegrass City
is full of charm and hospitality—traditionally southern with a Midwest flavor. It is an experience like none other and you’ll just decide to stay. For more information about the Library and the area, visit
