Reference and Information Services – July 8 – 11, 10 am – 12 pm CDT.
This course will introduce you the key concepts and tools necessary in reference and information services. You will study and discuss approaches to reference and information services; become knowledgeable about the application of core reference
principles and information technologies as they relate to daily activities of library and information providers; and explore and analyze real-world reference issues as they pertain to resource selection, user privacy and confidentiality. The course will be
a combination of lectures, reading, written assignments, exercises, and presentations. Students will be expected to complete at least one assignment or project related to each objective and participate in in-class discussions and exercises.
