Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tennessee is accepting applications for a new position in the Merner Pfeiffer Library. The newly-created
position of Academic Support Librarian will be instrumental in large-scale refurbishment of the library and the establishment of a Learning Commons made possible by a Title III grant. This is a non-tenure track, full time faculty position reporting to the
Library Director. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Supervise the overall operations of the tutoring center and learning commons by:

Maintaining the technology of the Learning Commons, creating workshops and online tutorials for technology and software usage by students and faculty and helping make the technological component of the Learning Commons a success.

Managing Tutoring Services: training, supervising, and scheduling student tutors both online and in person.

Developing and implementing assessment plans for the tutoring center and learning commons

Maintaining the library and tutoring services websites and social media presences to promote learning commons services, reflect their respective missions, and engage students and faculty.

Provide support for instructional technology and active learning pedagogy for students and faculty in developmental education courses and other courses as needed.

Support academic departments in the assessment of the developmental education program.

Collect data on usage of library resources, physical space, and academic success as well as assessment and evaluation of the library, learning commons and tutoring services.

Teach information literacy courses.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
ALA Accredited Master's Degree in Library Science and Information Studies

Technologically literate with experience in library/learning commons and information-specific technologies and programs.

Experience with tutoring programs and supervising student assistants.

Experience with marketing through online platforms to build growth and usage.

Preferred: Knowledge of instructional technology and active learning techniques.
