Second Announcement: THIRTY-SIXTH ANNUAL WORKSHOP IN GEOMETRIC TOPOLOGY
The next Workshop in Geometric Topology will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from Thursday May 30 to Saturday June 1, 2019. The principal speaker will be Professor Ciprian Manolescu of the Department of Mathematics
of the University of California, Los Angeles. He will give a series of three talks on the topic Triangulations, homology cobordism, and Floer theories:
Talk 1: Triangulations of manifolds
Talk 2: Seiberg-Witten theory and homology cobordism
Talk 3: Involutive Heegaard Floer homology
In addition to the main lectures, there will be contributed talks by participants as well as ample time for less formal interaction between participants.
NSF funds will allow the workshop to provide travel support for graduate students and
researchers without other means of support. The DEADLINE for travel support requests is April 15, 2019.
