This is a good example of something a field station may not think is that noteworthy, but really is. Wolf Creek and Dale Hollow have been doing this for years, but folks in other arenas/programs may not be aware and they find it exciting.  You guys are on the cutting edge, so please make sure to send these items up for the Monday morning Regional Directorate meetings.

And thanks for the additional detail James. Leo asked for it specifically this morning.

As requested, follow up to the Barrens topminnow release.  BTM are spawned at Conservation Fisheries Inc and Tennessee Aquarium and provided to Dale Hollow and Wolf Creek NFHs at around 12mm in length for grow-out. The program is coordinated with the State of Tenn and private landowners through the Partners Program and Cookeville Field Office.  Cultured fish are released at approximately 25mm and both hatcheries typically make one or two releases during the year. Releases are normally in the spring in order to optimize spawning potential. The most recent was of 67 individuals released into Short Springs near Tullahoma. (See attached social media screenshot).
