FYI regarding opportunities with the Census.
Good Morning,
I'm reaching out to you again from Census Geography Branch with another employment opportunity for your students and alumni.
The positions we're hiring for now are entry to mid level Cartographic Technician positions. These positions will be located at the Census National Processing Center in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Those selected will work in the Geographic Programs Section, largely specializing in boundary work. We offer plenty of promotion potential to qualified candidates, paid federal holidays, paid leave and of course, a federal benefits package.
Our team works closely with many local government and tribal GIS officials and Census leadership to ensure accurate boundaries for Census Data. Individuals selected will have the opportunity to work on Census programs such as the Boundary Annexation Survey, the Participant Statistical Areas Program, the Boundary Quality Assessment and Reconciliation Project and the Local Update of Census Addresses. We utilize ArcGIS, a myriad of local GIS systems and several Census proprietary programs to incorporate statistical boundaries into our nation's data.
