Dear department heads:

I am writing to ask for your help in encouraging your undergraduate students who are about to graduate to complete the First Destination career profile sponsored by the Center for Career Development.

We know that academic units would like to have reliable, centrally-provided data regarding student placements after graduation.  The Center for Career Development will be the authoritative central source for this information, but the information that the Center provides can only be accurate and comprehensive if students respond to the First Destination e-mail.  Reliable, centrally-provided data regarding student placements helps improve the academic program review process and the annual budget and planning process.  Please consider asking your unit's director of undergraduate studies to reach out to graduating students to encourage them to complete the First Destination career profile before leaving campus.  (A similar message from the Graduate School will be sent to departments' directors of graduate studies.)

On Wednesday, all graduating students received a reminder from the Office of the University Registrar to complete their career profile.  The message from the Registrar contains a link to the web site through which students can complete their profile.  For your convenience, the link is reproduced below:

If you have questions about the career profile or outcomes data, contact Stephanie Kit, Director of the Center for Career Development, at [log in to unmask].

Sincerely,

RJH
