Advocacy Alert: #FundLibraries 2020 Campaign The push for support in the House is coming to an end. Now, ALA advocates are turning the attention to the Senate. We are asking senators to preserve more than $210 million in federal funding for libraries. Now is the time to let yours know how important libraries are to their constituents and the entire state. Email your senators today and ask them to oppose cuts to federal funding for libraries. Many senators will only sign a Dear Appropriator letter if their constituents ask them. Use ALA's Action Center to send an email and urge them to sign on to the LSTA and IAL letters. The more signatures we have, the better our chances will be to protect federal funding for libraries across the country. Want to see if your senators have signed already? Check ALA's appropriations letter tracker. Need more info? Read the latest advocacy news in American Libraries online. The Senate deadline is April 5. Send your emails now! PS: If you have time, please spread the word and share the following message on Twitter and Facebook - My state depends on our libraries and our libraries depend on federal funding! Please ask your Senator to #FundLibraries by signing the LSTA and IAL Dear Appropriator letters for FY 2020. http://bit.ly/FundLibrariesSenate |
