All,

If you want to learn more about business reference, or know a lot but want to see how a pro teaches it, join us for the pre-conference with Celia Ross for the mini-version of her RUSA course.  Stay for the whole conference.  Even if you’ve never done business reference but want to learn more, join us.

It's all happening at the upcoming conference called SOUCABL (pronounced “sociable”)?  It will be in Athens, Georgia at the University of Georgia Libraries on March 29 – 30, 2019.   Southern academic business librarians work in places large and small and are often the only major business resource for hundreds of miles. Some are solo librarians supporting multiple departments and others share the work with other business librarians.  Regardless of your workplace, SOUCABL was created to bring Southern librarians together to discuss your challenges and ideas in a collaborative environment.

Don’t wait, hurry because the discounted hotel rate expires next Tuesday March 5th at SpringHill Suites.

We have a few slots left for presentations and posters on the following topics:

*         Mentoring & Career Development
*         Outreach & Engagement and Data
*         Tools & Resources

Examples include: business librarian career development; economic development tie-ins; data resource development/sharing with the business community; engagement of the business student at all levels; development of research/data tools guides for students and faculty.

Conference Highlights:
*         Celia Ross: Pre-conference "Making Sense of Business Reference" (limit 40; you can come to Celia's session only but we really suggest the whole conference).
*         Susan Klopper: Keynote  "So You Want to be an Academic Business Librarian?  A Roadmap (of sorts) for Your Professional Journey"
*         Topic Tracks: Mentoring & Career Development; Outreach & Engagement; and Data, Tools & Resources
*         Terry College Business Learning Community Tour: 306,000 sq. ft. of adaptable space and technology for teaching & teamwork

Costs and attendance limited and it will be highly-interactive.  First 90 people only.  Registration: $35 (includes Friday Opening Reception and Saturday: breakfast, lunch, snacks and Happy Hour).
