Arkansas Extension is pulling a state criminal check in addition to the youth maltreatment check for 4-H volunteers (program pays), but we pull only the free
youth maltreatment check for Master Gardner volunteers who are actively working with youth on a regular basis.

Subject: Re: Background Checks - Volunteers
Hello all –
I wanted to follow-up on this topic and ask if anyone is pulling background checks on volunteers who would be in a program similar to Master Gardening or a Master Wellness program who receives the programming
education and is committed to volunteering a certain amount of hours in Extension. If you are pulling a check, more specifically, I am looking to see if so are you building the cost into the program cost?
Thank you!
