Hello,

The Office of Research and Engagement is sponsoring a two-hour seminar from visualization expert, Alberto Cairo. In “Visual Trumpery: How Charts Lie and How They Make Us Smarter” Cairo will share the most effective ways to use graphs, charts, maps and infographics to enable a more comprehensive and informative message to your audience.  Aimed at a broad audience, his presentation attempts to help build a literate citizenry, which he believes is the best antidote for nonsense.

Join us Friday, February 22, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at the John C. Hodges Library, Lindsay Young Auditorium. Find more information on the UT events calendar. This event is open to the public.

Please share with your colleagues.

I hope to see you there!

Erin
