Good morning!

Just a reminder that Form 471 is now available to file. The deadline to file Form 471 is March 27th, so there is still plenty of time to file the second form. If you have not filed Form 470, the deadline for that is February 28th.

For Form 470, you do not need bills, just general information about the services you are interested in. If you are going out to bid (which is not required, unless your city/county requires it), you will need to upload your bid documents.

For Form 471, you will need to know your service provider and the cost of your services. If you're not changing service providers, then you can use the highest bill from the last year or two to calculate your funding from. If you are changing service providers, then you will need to find out from them what the cost will be, and if they can add in the taxes/fees, that would be great.

If you would like some additional training on E-rate, there are webinars available through the USAC.

E-rate Office Hours

During the FY2019 application filing window, USAC will conduct a series of office hour webinars which will focus on specific E-rate topics covered in our online E-rate Program Training Series<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=52291696&msgid=245345&act=OE5S&c=1535322&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.usac.org%2Fsl%2Fabout%2Foutreach%2Fapplicant-training-series.aspx%3Futm_source%3DiContact%26utm_medium%3Demail%26utm_campaign%3Dsl-news-brief%26utm_content%3Dsl-newsbrief-20190125>.

Here is how the process will work:

  * We will post a list of the office hour webinars on the Webinars page<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=52291696&msgid=245345&act=OE5S&c=1535322&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.usac.org%2Fsl%2Fabout%2Foutreach%2Ftraining%2Fwebinars.aspx%3Futm_source%3DiContact%26utm_medium%3Demail%26utm_campaign%3Dsl-news-brief%26utm_content%3Dsl-newsbrief-20190125> on the USAC website soon. Each webinar will include the topic, the date and time, the recommended audience, the E-rate experience level (beginner, advanced, general) and the specific training module(s) that attendees should review in advance of the webinar. Note that we may hold more than one webinar on the same day.
  * If you are interested in attending, register for the webinar and watch the training module(s).
  * When the webinar starts, we will provide instructions on how to ask questions, go over a short summary of the module(s) you should have reviewed, and then open the floor for questions.
  * Attendees will use the webinar's chat function to ask questions. We will identify questions of general interest that come in through the chat function and read and respond to them verbally, and also answer more specific questions individually using the chat function. As with our regular webinars, we will give preference to questions about the topic under discussion.

Because the first office hour webinars will be held next week, we are providing the details below. Remember to register using the appropriate link on the Webinars page once the full schedule is posted.
