Dear IS PhD students (and candidates), Welcome back to another semester at CCI and SIS! I am writing to let you know of two important things happening this semester where your participation is needed. Item 1 Starting at the end of this month, we will host three faculty candidates. It is very important for you to be involved with this process. Not only do we need your feedback, we also need your help in showing the candidates how great UT is! This will also be a great opportunity for many of you to learn about how campus interviews work. Kevin Mallary has been serving on the Faculty Search Committee as a PhD student representative and he will provide you with more information about how to participate once the dates approach. Your participation includes attending the public lecture and hosting lunch. In the meantime, please hold these dates for the lecture (first day, 10:30-11:30) and the lunch (second day, 12:15-1:00): 1/28, 1/29 1/31, 2/1 2/12, 2/13 Item 2 Please also hold March 15 (12:00-1:00 p.m.) for this semester’s IS PhD/Faculty lunch. The discussion will focus on planning and preparing conference submissions, specifically ALISE posters (deadline in May!) and ASIST. Once the date approaches, we will send another email.
