Geographers and Sustainers - I’m starting to get a lot of emails and office visits about summer internships. Another option to consider are NSF funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs). These summer programs typically offer paid research opportunities all across the US. This is an opportunity to gain experience, build your professional network and resume, and see if graduate school is a good fit for you. A quick search of the NSF REU page lists opportunities in GIS, remote sensing, atmospheric science, immigration policy, natural hazards, regional planning, and sustainability among many other topics.

From the NSF REU page, you can narrow down the opportunities by keyword, discipline, or location.

Consider making an appointment with the Office of Undergraduate Research’s Getting Started seminars for more assistance.
