E-rate Funding Year 2019 Application Filing Window Opens January 16, 2019

The Funding Year (FY) 2019 FCC Form 471 application filing window will open on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 12:00 noon EST and will close on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

So what does that mean to me?

It means that now we have a deadline for filing Form 470 for Funding Year 2019 (Fiscal Year 2019/2020).  The deadline for Form 470 will be February 28th.

It also means that your EPC profile will be locked as of January 15th, so if there are any changes you need to make, now’s the time.

What’s Form 471?

Form 471 is the second form in the annual cycle.  This is the one that you report what service provider you will be using, and how much your services will be.  This is also the form that if you had to go out to bid that a contract will need to be uploaded.

What will I need to file Form 471?

You’ll need the following:

·         Your EPC login and password

·         Your Service Provider SPIN

·         The amount of the service you requested on Form 470

·         Any contracts that you went out to bid for

But I’ve not done my Form 470 yet?  What do I do?

You’ll have until February 28th to file your Form 470.  But the earlier the better in E-rate land!  You won’t be able to file your Form 471 without first filing a Form 470 a minimum of 28 days before.

Please keep in mind you can only file Forms 470 and 471 via the EPC portal: https://portal.usac.org/suite/
