Plough Library at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN has a position available for Technical Services/Catalog Librarian. Job Description: The Technical Services/Catalog Librarian is responsible for maintaining the bibliographic integrity of the library's catalog and its records. Must work one evening each week and Saturdays and Sundays in rotation. * Creates both copy and original cataloging of print, media, and serial resources using OCLC and the online integrated library system (ILS) * Processes incoming material, including applying labels and any security features * Processes weeded material * Maintains the Curriculum Library, the Lasallian Collection, and their holdings * Collects statistics related to cataloging * Assists patrons with reference questions in all subjects using print and online resources * Serves as a liaison to assigned departments * Provides library instruction as needed * Serves on university committees as assigned * Keeps current with professional developments in the field * Promotes new books to the campus Requirements: * Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program * Familiarity with OCLC and the structure of the MARC record * Ability to use software programs for statistical collection, document production, and presentations * Aptitude for detail work * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to lift material weighing up to 40 pounds Preferred: * Two years library experience * Experience with WMS How to Apply / Contact To apply, complete the online application and include a cover letter, a resume or CV, and at least three references.
