From Mike Martin, the UGA Director of Extension County Operations:

Some states use the term “Educator” and “Agent” interchangeably (ie. An Agent in Georgia may be the same thing as an Educator in Oklahoma)

In Georgia, Educators are definitely different from Agents (see attached)

In either case, none of our Agents or Educators fall into a scenario where they are less than full-time.

The only position that we have less than full-time is a County Extension Program Assistant (however they can also be full-time).  A position description for a 4-H program assistant is attached.

Subject: 3/4 time Extension Educators

Hello all and good morning –

Our structure here at OSU is that we have a couple of District Directors (DD) with an Extension Educator in every county reporting directory to the appropriate DD. These Extension Educators are the educators primarily responsible for program implementation, planning and evaluation.

With all of that said, I’m looking to see if anyone has allowed any of your similar positions to go less than full time and if so, would you be willing to share a position description?

Thank you!
