Reminders:

All academic programs should have been assessed for the 2017-18 academic year, and the Assessment Reports should have been entered into the Planning Module by September 15th. Report progress (on the Assessment Report) should be marked “Ready for College.” (NOTE: If an outcome is on extended cycle, the Report progress should be marked as “extended cycle,” and an explanation for postponing the assessment should be provided in the Notes section of that report.)

By the end of October, all College-Level Reviews should be complete for all academic programs, and feedback provided to faculty in the departments. After this occurs, the report progress (the last item on the Feedback Form) should be marked “Ready for Institution.”

The Assessment Steering Committee will begin Institutional-Level Reviews in November with the aim of providing feedback in January. We use a holistic rubric<https://sacs.utk.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/59/2018/10/Holistic-Rubric-for-Assessment-Report-Evaluation-PDF.pdf>, which is linked for your information. Upon completion of these reviews, the report progress will be marked “Institution Review Complete.”

We have two new resources available, “Top 12 Considerations for Writing the Annual Assessment Report<https://sacs.utk.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/59/2018/10/Top-12-Considerations-for-Writing-the-Annual-Assessment-Report.pdf>” and “Top Ten Considerations When Reviewing an Assessment Report<https://teaching.utk.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/78/2018/10/Top-Ten-Assessment-Considerations.pdf>,” which are being formatted and “prettied up.” The content is ready, so I’m linking to both in hopes that they may be helpful for you. If you prefer a Word document, please go to the Resources page of the http://sacs.utk.edu website. Thanks to Dr. Janelle Coleman<mailto:[log in to unmask]> in Teaching and Learning Innovation for developing these tools. Please contact her with specific questions you may have regarding these documents.

Also, remember Janelle’s title is Faculty Consultant. She is here for you! Please don’t hesitate to contact her for one-on-one or departmental support.
