One never knows what opportunities might arise from attending talks by visiting speakers.  


Here's one on climate change in Bangladesh, tomorrow at 11 am in Strong Hall. 


Hi Folks

 

Dr. Qumrul Hassan from Dhaka University in Bangladesh (CV attached) is visiting UT this week, on his way to the GSA Annual Meeting. Dr. Hassan is giving a talk at UT on Wednesday, October 31st at 11:00 am in Strong Hall Room 611 (Misra Conference room). The title of his talk is “Climate Change Issues and Impacts in Bangladesh”. I encourage everyone to attend. Dr. Hassan will also be available to meet with faculty and students before and after the meeting. If you are interested in meeting with him, please sign up for one of the times indicated below:

 

9:30 am – meet with Larry McKay in Strong Hall 703

10:15 am – meet with Iftekhar Alam in Strong Hall 626

11:00 am to noon - talk on “Climate Change Issues and Impacts in Bangladesh” in Strong Hall, Room 611

Noon – Lunch, hosted by Larry McKay (others are welcome to join)

1:30 pm – meet with Ed Perfect in Strong Hall 743

2:00 pm – meet with Drew Steen in Strong Hall 717

Dr. Hassan already has a link with UT, as his son is a graduate student in the Chemistry Department.  He might be really happy to connect with you, and perhaps this could lead to an opportunity to conduct research in Bangladesh, or some other opportunity of mutual interest.
