Hello, campus communicators,
This fall, UT will transition to a new mobile phone safety app called LiveSafe. The app will provide students, faculty, and staff with mobile phone access to a variety of campus
services and resources such as the UT Police Department, the Office of Title IX, Student Health Services, Facilities Services, the Counseling Center, bus routes, and more. The app allows users to choose from any of their existing contacts to provide a virtual
companion when walking or driving on or near campus, and gives users traveling overseas one-push access to emergency services wherever they might be.
As campus communicators, you will be on the forefront of helping to promote and raise awareness about the app among students and colleagues in your respective departments.
On Thursday, October 11, and Friday, October 12, LiveSafe will hold training meetings at the UT Police Department, 1101 Cumberland Avenue. On behalf of UT Police Chief Troy Lane,
I want to invite you to attend one of the stakeholder or marketing strategy meetings to learn more about the app’s functionality and benefits.
