Position Summary: The Data Services Programs Specialist will support a new program within a team offering critical and sophisticated services that provides academic and real-world experience to undergraduate students while offering critical and sophisticated services that enhance the scholarly expression of researchers. Under the direction of the Science Informatics Consultant and Health Analytics Coordinator, the Data Services Programs Specialist will supervise, train, mentor, and manage a team of student consultants who will assist with the Libraries’ growing research and informatics consulting services. This new program, known internally as Data Bridge, will provide students with research and consulting experiences that span many departments and disciplines, and will offer these students real-world, collaborative, client-focused, documented, and assessed work experiences. They will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing students while integrating with the Libraries’ growing High Impact Practices program; will facilitate consulting projects from a variety of teams within the Research & Informatics Division; and will be responsible for assessing the student outcomes, providing quality assurance checks on student work, and providing input on strategic directions for program expansion.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a science, engineering, or data sciences field
- Experience in assessment related to student learning and program performance
- Experience managing others
- Experience in program planning and development; past assistance in conducting studies and research
- Evidence of knowledge and background of emerging and current trends in high impact practices and student mentoring
- Experience in data manipulation, data visualization, database prototyping, and data analytics tools (Tableau, Python, R, Excel, SQL, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s degree or equivalent in data science field (business analytics, data science, statistics etc.)
- Experience in research study design or statistical analysis
- Interest or experience in curriculum design or course development
- Demonstrated ability to mentor

Employment Conditions:  - Average of 30 hours per week; work schedule to be worked between the hours of Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm
                                        - Hours include working summer and school break hours
