Good Morning, Tennessee!

Attached is the 2018 County Health Rankings report for Tennessee.

* On page 12, you can see how different counties compare with Health Outcomes (you want a high number there) and Health Factors (you want a low number there). The whole report provides good information and is worth a look but the county rankings are helpful in identifying areas in your state that need help.

* On page 14, you can see how TN compares with the US average - we'd like to support public libraries and community organizations to improve the health across your state.

You can view information online, as well:

Below my signature is an invitation to join (for FREE) the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) - one of the outreach arms of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), which is one of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Membership with NNLM will help cultivate valuable partnerships in providing health information outreach to your communities as well as entitle organizations to apply for our funding, attend free classes just for your professional development or to help you earn your Consumer Health Information Specialist (CHIS) credentials (and we often offer promotions to pay for the Medical Library Association fee to complete the process so it's entirely free of cost to you). Membership also enables you to order free bulk materials from NLM featuring things like the popular MedlinePlus<medlineplus.gov> bookmarks among many other choices - and you can schedule an NLM traveling exhibit to come to your library to draw your community into the library with supporting programming, too. In the invitation below, there are links so you can learn more about it all.

Please consider joining us in promoting health information and access to reduce health disparities. If you have any questions after reviewing the information below, please reach out to me. We want to support you! (and there really is no catch :) )

With best wishes,

Nancy
