The Office of Subsistence Management (OSM) is pleased to announce an open position for a Cultural Anthropologist or Social Scientist, GS-190/101-09/11. This is a permanent, full time position located at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Office in Anchorage, Alaska.
As a member of the Anthropology Division team at OSM your responsibilities would include:
- Developing inter-disciplinary staff analyses of proposed changes to subsistence regulations.
- Providing sociocultural expertise to the review of harvest monitoring and TEK research investigation plans.
- Providing support and up-to-date information to the Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils and Federal Subsistence Board.
- Technical assistance with the negotiation, preparation, implementation, and tracking of cooperative agreements.
