Post-doctoral Research Fellowship Opportunity: Social Science Research Analyst Location: Fort Collins CO Compensation: $79,799/year The Social and Economic Analysis <https://www.usgs.gov/centers/fort/science/social-and-economic-analysis-sea> Branch of the U.S. Geological Survey in Fort Collins, CO, is looking for a post-doctoral research fellow to provide support for the project titled *Understanding Stakeholder and Public Preferences for Waterfowl Hunting, Viewing and Conservation.* This work is being done in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, North American Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP) Human Dimensions Working group, Public Engagement Team, and associated stakeholders. Key tasks include: 1) Identifying, obtaining, synthesizing, and reviewing interdisciplinary literature associated with the human dimensions of wildlife; 2) analyzing quantitative data and interpreting results; 3) Contributing to peer-reviewed publications or other means of communicating results; and 4) assisting in coordination among stakeholders to implement NAWMP Waterfowl Hunter and Bird Watcher Public Engagement Strategies. The Fellow must have: · A PhD and graduated within the past five years associated with the human dimensions of wildlife or closely related field; · Demonstrated experience conducting all aspects of quantitative social science research design, data collection, data analysis, and reporting of results; · Demonstrated experience conducting multivariate statistical analysis; · Excellent writing ability; · A U.S. driver’s license as operation of a Government vehicle may be required; This is a full-time position. Employee will be physically located in Fort Collins, CO. Currently, one year of funding is available for this position. A second year is dependent upon performance and availability of funding. The objective of the USGS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program is to provide highly motivated recent Ph.D. graduates with the opportunity to conduct concentrated research in association with selected U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Scientists, as a final element to their formal career preparation. Selectees will utilize the excellent scientific resources available at the USGS in the conduct of scientific investigations and exploratory development associated with advanced scientific research. This program will provide selectees the opportunity to contribute to the overall research efforts of the USGS and in turn they will gain excellent professional research experience early in their careers.
