LAC Group is seeking a qualified Project Manager with experience with Rare Books to lead a team that's responsible for converting cataloging data on printed catalog cards into online MARC records for a prestigious library on Capitol Hill. This is a full time position, benefited.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*         Develop and maintain an effective quality control program to ensure services are performed in accordance with this SOW
*         Develop and implement procedures to identify, prevent, and ensure non-recurrence of defective services.
*         Submits a quality control plan to the Library for their review and acceptance.
*         Lead a team that's responsible for the following:
*         Completion of MARC bibliographic records for titles not already sufficiently cataloged in the Voyager catalog.
*         Completion of MARC holdings and item record data that can be converted by the Library into its system if not directly added/created by the contractor into the LC Voyager catalog.
*         Performance of authority work on all headings (name, title, subject) in the bibliographic records created.
*         Inclusion of 987 fields in applicable records to allow the Library to perform post-conversion work on titles requiring updates beyond what the contractor can provide.
*         Delivery of bibliographic records to the Library in a form that can successfully be added to the Voyager catalog.
*         Delivery of holdings and item records to the Library in a form that can successfully be added to the Voyager catalog OR delivery of holdings and item data (e.g. in the 991 field of the bibliographic record) that can automatically generate holdings and item records in the Voyager catalog.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*         MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution
*         Experience working on rare books and special collections
*         Broad subject expertise of the material to be processed
*         Thorough knowledge and understanding of standard cataloging practices and applications in Voyager (MARC, AACR2, DCRM(B) and RDA)
*         Focused attention to detail and the ability to follow standard procedures in the handling and processing of materials
*         Foreign language skills for reading, analyzing, and transcribing the works in Romance and other European languages such (but not limited to) French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and German.
*         Library automation experience, including creating and editing records (bibliographic, holdings, item) in an integrated library system as well as searching in OCLC and similar library cataloging databases.
