Dear GRC members, Please see the proposition from Greg Chinchar about a special issue of Viruses and get back to him with your interest. Best wishes, Jesse Brunner School of Biological Sciences Washington State University 283 Eastlick Hall / PO Box 644236 Pullman, WA 99164 USA [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> 509-335-3702 https://labs.wsu.edu/brunner/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposition: I have been approached by Eric Freed to determine if there is interest among GRC members, and others interested in iridoviruses, in providing articles for a special issue of Viruses devoted to that family. I told him that we have just published (2017) a 9 article contribution inVirology focused on molecular aspects of ranavirus biology, and that if we undertook this task we would need to include a mix of articles focused on ecology, pathology, disease, and molecular biology of ranaviruses as well as other iridoviruses. He said that will work…. In view of that, I am asking members of the GRC, and others interested in both vertebrate and invertebrate iridoviruses, if they would be willing to contribute an article to this effort. Two other matters: (1) there is a page charge of $1600 to publish, and (2) I would like to have a co-editor. If you are interested in contributing to this issue, let me know and based on the response, we can decide whether to proceed. Greg V.
