The Pacific Region, Fish and Aquatic Conservation Program (Program) is
excited to announce the vacancy recruitment for two GS-12

H Managers (Supervisory Fish Biologist

 0482) positions, at Leavenworth, WA and Warm Springs, OR.

The Pacific Region Program has 15 NFHs, each of which is a member facility
in a Complex. Leavenworth NFH located in Leavenworth, WA
​ (about 120 miles east of Seattle, WA)​
, is one of three NFHs in the Leavenworth Complex  whose production is
mitigation established by the Grand Coulee Fish Maintenance Project to
compensate for anadromous fish losses above Grand Coulee Dam.  Working with
its partners, Bureau of Reclamation, Yakima Nation, Confederated Tribes of
the Colville Reservation, and other Icicle Work
​ G

​,​
 the Leavenworth NFH staff of 12 work to produce 1.2 million
​s​
pring Chinook and 700,000 coho salmon each year.

Warm Springs NFH located near the town of Warm Springs, OR (30 miles from
Madras
​, OR​
 and 70 miles from Bend
​.OR​
) is one of six NFHs in the Columbia River Gorge NFH Complex.  The
​NFH
 is co-managed with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and has been
producing salmonids since 1978.  Currently, the
​NFH
 produces 750,000 spring
​C​
hinook annually for on-site release to provide harvest opportunities for
Tribal members.  The
​NFH
 is also a year-round fish passage facility.  The 3-4 person staff and
their activities are funded directly by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
and they work very closely with their Tribal and Gorge Complex counterparts
to address challenges associated with raising
​s​
pring
​C​
hinook in a remote locale using surface water from the Warm Springs river.
