History, antebellum mansions, Civil War battlefields, state parks, wildlife, scenic beauty, downtown charm, cutting edge technology, an accomplished university, and excellent schools contribute to making Rutherford County one of the most sought out places to live in the state. Located southeast of Nashville along the Interstate 24 corridor, Murfreesboro is convenient and within a day’s drive of 75% of the U.S. population, including the 11 counties and 25 public libraries served by the Stones River Regional Library.

You will travel the region working with library boards, directors and staffs to assist, guide, and train in pursuit of the Tennessee Regional Library System’s mission to, “Make libraries better.” The Stones River Regional Library enjoys a close relationship with its neighbor, Middle Tennessee State University, to create special training opportunities and to work with students on unique projects to assist libraries in a variety of ways.

Rutherford County is truly the heart of Tennessee and has something for everyone! The county’s public library system will open the Technology Engagement Center in June 2018.
