LibGig, a LAC Group company, is seeking a Full-Time
Temporary Reference Law Librarian for the summer with an academic institution located near West LA/Santa Monica/Malibu. This position will cover the reference desk on daily rotations, possibly
helping out at the circulation desk, and assisting with faculty research projects and with special projects like collection counts. The position will run from June 1 through September 30 and will be standard business hours (8 AM – 5 PM or 9 AM – 6 PM).
RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Provide reference desk assistance and help students, faculty and staff with various reference requests.
·
Assist on faculty research projects and special projects (including collection counts).
·
Updating law guides and helping with statistics.
·
Assist students with computers and with other technology needs.
·
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with a diverse student population.
·
Perform additional librarian duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
·
Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA accredited university is required.
·
At least 1 year of experience as a law librarian including handling research requests in an academic or law library is strongly preferred.
·
Previous experience working with a variety of reference requests.
·
Excellent customer service skills;
·
Ability to multi- task.
