We spoke yesterday about anyone interested in an IT internship with Malibu Boats, located in Loudon TN.  We need one intern for approximately 10 to 12 weeks this summer.  The rate of pay is $16.50/hour.  I am including a job description for the position in hopes that you may have some contacts who can reach out to interested students.

Job Description

                                                           

Job Title: IT Intern

Department: IT

Reports To: Director, IT

FLSA Status: Hourly  $16.50/hr.

 

Summary:

The IT Intern is responsible for providing computer hardware, software and general infrastructure support to the Malibu Boats user community.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities List the job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities.  Include all important aspects for the job whether performed daily weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals.

·       Assist in hardware/software setup

·       Basic office phone, Smartphone, cell phone/Nextel support.

·       Inventory and labeling of local equipment

·       Assist in IT inventory management and make sure proper quantities are available

·       Receive IT shipments

·       Helpdesk queue support

·       General cleanup of network closets and storage room organization

·       Other assigned duties as necessary

Qualifications:

·       Working knowledge of Windows XP, 7, 10 and emerging Windows operating systems and technologies.

·       Ability to use instructions and pre-established guidelines to successfully manage problem solving.

·       The ability to learn, install, configure, use and provide support on Office 365 applications - such as Word, Excel, Outlook and any others used by Malibu Boats.

·       Excellent communication skills – including telephone, in person and written.

·       A+ Certification preferred

·       Ability to lift 50 pounds

·       Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively within a team environment.

·       Prior Help Desk experience preferred

 

Education and/or Experience:  

·       Associate degree from two-year college or technical school is preferred, but not required.

Typical 5-day work week

·       May be required to work during production shutdowns or other “off-schedule” periods to complete special projects.

·       Safety glasses required while in production areas

·       Other PPE may be required based on specific projects.
