Joyful Flight: A Hummingbird Exhibit

Friday, May 4 from 5-8pm

The UT Gardens, Knoxville is opening their inaugural Art in the Gardens exhibit "Joyful Flight: A Hummingbird Exhibit" with a reception Friday, May 4 from 5-8pm. The reception is free and open to the public and will include live music and light refreshments. Many of the artists will be on hand and available to discuss their work.

Twenty-eight local amateur and professional artists have artistically interpreted this year's theme by painting or embellishing large plywood hummingbird silhouettes using media of their choice. These works have been installed throughout the UT Gardens and will be displayed throughout the summer of 2018 for Gardens visitors to enjoy. Other aspects of the exhibit include information on hummingbirds and identification of plants attractive to them.

The project is designed to promote community participation and artist collaboration as well as to raise awareness and support for the Gardens. On September 9, the art pieces will be auctioned for the benefit of the UT Gardens.

Plantapalooza Plant Sale

Join the UT Gardens, Knoxville in a spring plant sale shopping extravaganza! In addition to premium and choice hosta selections, many other fine plant choices including trees, shrubs, native azaleas, perennials, and choice summer tropicals will be available for purchase. The East Tennessee Hosta Society and over eight different local plant vendors will also be present on Sunday (their sale hours may differ).

The UT Gardens will be featuring the winter hardy (perennial) lantanas available in multiple colors and the new, dwarf ‘Buzz’ bee balms also available in multiple colors. We sold out of these special plants at our April plant sale but are well-stocked for this sale. We will also have, in limited quantity, daylily ‘Orange Vols’ which is a great plant to strut your Big Orange UT Color. Don’t miss this opportunity to stock your garden with these choice selections not easily found!

UT Gardens members will receive 10% off their purchases (applies to purchases from the UT Gardens only - other vendors will not be offering this discount.) If you are not a current member, you may join or renew your membership at the sale.

Plateau Discovery Gardens - Crossville

The Plants Are Ready on the Plateau!

UT Gardens, Crossville will be having our annual Spring Plant Sale to benefit our work expanding our Demonstration Gardens. Here on the Cumberland Plateau our last frost date is coming up next week, so everyone needs to come out and get ready to plant!

Friday, May 4 our Members only sale will be in the afternoon from 3-6pm CST
Saturday, May 5th hours are 9am-3pm CST and the sale is open to the public

Garden members showing current membership will receive 10% off listed prices at both the Friday and Saturday sales. If you aren't a current member, you can join or renew at the Friday Members' Preview sale - a great way to get first crack at some choice plants!
