Job Description
Senior Taxonomist, Structured Data - Walmart eCommerce
Walmart.com now has over 100,000,000 items in its catalog. Help curate and build a product taxonomy for *the* Fortune 1 company. Walmart is building a cutting-edge ontology that represents ALL the products that Walmart sells, from diamond rings to chicken coops. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a combination of technical skills, classification knowledge, and creative thinking.
This is a full-time position with benefits.
Physical Activities
The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
Enters and locates information on computer.
Presents information to small or large groups and individuals.
Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment.
Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print.
Reads information, often in small print.
Travel
Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
Travel quarterly to the Bay Area.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Cognitive Science, Library Science, or related field and 5 years experience in technology taxonomy, structure data, online search technology, insights research or related field OR 7 years experience in technology taxonomy, structured data, online search technology, insights research or related field.
• 5 years experience in retail or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• 10 years experience in technology taxonomy, structure data, online search technology, insights research or related field. • 5 years project management experience.
