The Pacific Region, Fish and Aquatic Conservation Program (Program) is excited to announce the vacancy recruitment for three Assistant NFH Manager GS-9/11 positions, one each at each of the following NFHs: Leavenworth, Little White Salmon, and Quinault.
The Pacific Region Program has 15 NFHs, each of which is a member facility in a Complex. Leavenworth NFH located in Leavenworth, WA, is one of three NFHs in the Leavenworth Complex whose production is mitigation established by the Grand Coulee Fish Maintenance Project to compensate for anadromous fish losses above Grand Coulee Dam. Working with its partners, Bureau of Reclamation, Yakima Nation, Confederated Tribes of the Coville Reservation, and other Icicle Workgroup members the Leavenworth NFH staff of 12 work to produce 1.2 million Spring Chinook and 700,000 coho salmon each year.
Little White Salmon NFH located in Cook, WA, and is one of six NFHs in the Columbia River Gorge NFH Complex. Little White Salmon NFH’s 122 history of aquaculture now culminates in the production of 6.2 million fall and 1 million Spring Chinook salmon annually. The six person staff and their activities are funded through reimbursable agreements with the US Army Corps of engineers, NOAA Fisheries, and the Bonneville Power Administration, and work in cooperation with the US v Oregon partners which includes the Yakima Nation and Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.
Quinault NFH, located in Humptulips, WA, is a member facility in the Puget Sound Olympic Peninsula Complex. Quinault NFH is physically located on the Quinault Indian Reservation. All USFWS funded production programs are in support of the USFWS’ Tribal Trust responsibilities, specifically work with the Quinault and Hoh Nations. The staff of five USFWS and Tribal employees work to produce 660,000 coho and 2.2 million chum salmon, and 750,000 steelhead annually.
