CommuniCon 2018 planning is in full swing and the committee is finalizing location details, session topics and presenters, and SWAG.
CommuniCon is Wednesday, July 11, at Alumni Memorial Building with lunch in Neyland Stadium’s Lauricella Center. Social hour will be held in the Neyland Stadium West Club.
I am happy to announce our keynote speaker for CommuniCon 2018 is generational marketing expert, Ryan Jenkins. Check out his website, https://www.ryan-jenkins.com, for video clips,
podcast, and his blog. UT’s communicators are writing for and engaging with a number of generational groups—Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and the emerging Generation Z—and Ryan will give us some insight into speaking to all of them.
We will be hosting another Pecha Kucha session this year and we need YOUR submissions! The format for Pecha Kucha is 20 slides, 20 seconds each, on a topic you think would be interesting to our campus communicators.
Last year, we heard about accessibility, email newsletter design, Instagram, impactful photographs, and more! You can check out a range of Pecha Kucha-style presentations at http://www.pechakucha.org.
If you are interested in giving a Pecha Kucha presentation on a communications-related topic, please send me a paragraph describing the topic you want to present and your contact information via email ([log in to unmask])
by April 27. The committee will review and approve the topics and send confirmation notices by mid-May.
