Hello, Campus Communicators,

The Office of Community Engagement and Outreach has designated travel funds for two faculty to attend a national engagement scholarship conference.  Associate Dean Katherine Ambroziak here in my college is on the Academic Outreach and Engagement Council and asks if you can share with your faculty, as possible.  If you or your faculty have questions, please see the contact info below.

Thank you.

Travel funds provided by the Office of Community Engagement and Outreach have been designated for two faculty members to attend the Engagement Scholarship Consortium at the University of Minnesota, October 2-3.

·         The deadline to request a UT Faculty Scholarship is 5:00 p.m. on March 19, 2018.

Please send your scholarship request to [log in to unmask] with the subject line ESC Scholarship. The request should contain all information required for the conference submission plus a narrative describing your demonstrated interest or experience in engaged scholarship in PDF. Include the reasons for your interest in attending the conference and the possible outcomes you anticipate resulting from your attendance. The Office of Community Engagement and Outreach and Academic Outreach and Engagement Council will review requests concurrent with the conference review. Funding is contingent on acceptance to the conference.

Conference scholarships will cover registration, travel and lodging costs, up to a total of $1,200 per attendee. Per diem will not be covered. Participants have the option of registering for additional pre-conference sessions. Additional conference fees and lodging expenses are also reimbursable up to $1200.

Each traveler’s department is responsible for processing registration and all travel-related expenses. Once travel is completed and the traveler has been reimbursed by his or her department, documentation should be submitted to the Office of Research and Engagement, which will transfer funds to reimburse the departmental account.
