Subject: [UTKGC] Updates from the Graduate School

Good afternoon all,

I’d like to remind everyone that we have another 3MT semi-final tomorrow morning at 9:00 am in HBB 530, and another on March 7 from 1-4 in 220 Henson Hall.

Parking and Transit has released the latest Getting Around UT<https://parking.utk.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/49/2018/03/March-2018-newsletter-Issue-20.pdf> newsletter to help folks navigate campus during the month of March.

The Center for Career Development<https://career.utk.edu/> is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Career Exploration and Engagement Team. The position is a 12-month GTA appointment to begin summer 2018. A qualified candidate will be from a doctoral or masters student in the Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education or related discipline with course work in career development. Experience working with individual students and groups is required. Presentation experience and knowledge of instruments such as the Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and CliftonStrengths Finder is helpful. For information on how to apply, see the attached document or contact Erin Bennett ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

The CEHHS Graduate Student Advisory Board will host the 14th Annual Graduate Student Research Colloquium this Friday, March 2, 2018 from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Frieson Black Cultural Center. Please join CEHHS for this premiere event to showcase the research of their students.

Do you and your colleagues have students who would like to write about science, engineering, or health so that it can be understood and enjoyed by the general public? If so, the School of Journalism & Electronic Media offers three courses:

JREM 450: Writing about Science and Medicine
        JREM 451: Environmental Writing
JREM 456: Science Writing as Literature

These courses have no prerequisites, can be taken for undergraduate or graduate credit, and fulfill the General Education requirement for writing-intensive courses. For more information, visit the School of Journalism & Electronic Media or contact Mark Littmann ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

Thanks!
Sean
