KCI Technologies is seeking a current student or recent graduate to assist with the development of a geospatial model that predicts the locations and attributes of stream and wetland remediation sites. The selected candidate will be responsible
primarily for acquiring, sanitizing and analyzing geospatial data, but will also have opportunities to develop and maintain geodatabases, assist in model design or work on the model’s user interface depending on the candidate’s skills and interests.
The analyst will work alongside an environmental scientist and GIS developer, but must able to work toward set goals relatively independently at times (e.g., when team members are traveling for fieldwork or conferences) as well as communicate
challenges and successes effectively so the progress of the project can be tracked. Candidates should have proficiency in at least one GIS software suite, preferably ArcGIS, as well as a strong understanding of fundamental GIS concepts. A general understanding
of relational databases and SQL is a plus, as is the ability to program in a high level, general purpose programming language (preferably Python). Previous coursework in statistics will be useful. Candidates are not expected to have had previous coursework
in stream or wetland science, but should expect to become familiar with the subjects on the job.
This position is expected to last for approximately 8 weeks during the summer of 2018. The analyst will preferably be working out of our Nashville, TN office but there is a possibility for placement in Raleigh, NC. Expected compensation
